When the Going Gets Tough

When the Going Gets Tough

I designed this larger canvas some years ago after my husband’s cancer diagnosis. I drew inspiration from my original piece, “Believe,” which I had created at least 30 years earlier. If I were to assign a logo representing my life philosophy, the original “Believe” would be it. I published a post about the original piece in June 2024. It makes sense that I would turn to it for inspiration during such a difficult time.

Finding a way to believe in hope, possibility, and positivity has been central to my life over the years. I try to discover and nurture tiny bits of unexpected magic every day, whether in nature, through a meaningful connection or conversation, or a piece of art or writing that touches me. I believe there is magic and light to be found. I need only to remain open to it.

This piece was assembled from various components I designed using paint, pastels, colored markers, and different paper types. I especially enjoyed crafting her hair using an assortment of handmade and scrapbooking papers!
